The replies on the facebook thread by bottle logic state that there was more of this beer "brewed and barreled" than darkstar November. Was the yield that bad?

They're having a 4 course dinner with beer pairings on Wednesday. Those going can buy an "unlimited" number of fundamental observation before the official release on the 30th

They need to announce the pricing and bottle limits already.

I actually don't mind going and standing in line there. Its usually a good time and the line moves pretty quickly. Especially if you just want bottles to go.

Seems like this is kind of a mess as far as information goes, especially with the dinner tonight.

I guess they won't know how much will be available until the people with unlimited purchase privileges at the dinner tonight blow through the stock.

Pairing dinners are a great way to investigate the relationship between food and beer, but should not be used as requirements for bottle purchases.

I also noticed they took the post down on FB about the release...or maybe I'm just blind and don't see it now.

I know it's highly unlikely, but I thought it would be funny if someone wants to buy all the cases at the dinner tonight.

Maybe I'll be dining with Moe....

The cost wasn't announced yet for the pairing, when they called me to make sure I was still going, I asked about it and they didn't know. so hmm, I wonder. I mean, it can't really be more than their last two big abv beers, Darkstar and the anniversary one, right?

    Hi everyone,

I have some info for you guys. There is a 6 bottle limit on Fundamental Observation. Pricing is identical to Darkstar November - $19.50, sales tax included.

We had discussed using BPT for the sale, and after seeing all of your feedback, we will consider using it for our next big release.

The yield was significantly less than Darkstar November - adding vanilla means a lot less yield per barrel. In addition this beer was aged for 11 months, which means a larger angel's share, and we also had a bit more on draft for festivals and parties, including Sabroso and the LA Beer Week kickoff. It all combines to about 30% less beer available. There was some contrary info posted a while back on Facebook, but the final amount released is indeed quite a bit less.

Thanks again for the feedback, everyone. You guys are the reason we are in business, and we couldn't do it without you.

    Cheers!

It was a BPT listed event. Guess it just wasn't talked about much?
