Lightest to heaviest in terms of flavor intensity. Don't fry your taste buds too early.

It's a social event! Go with the flow and drink what people want when they want it! My only suggestion is that don't save that special beer for the end when your less likely to remember how it tastes.

I've been to shares that open the "best" beer first. Just don't open what you're more excited about at the very end unless you have great self control

In general, I'm a "open whatever, whenever" kinda guy. My only guideline is to try to have a clear difference between pours: for example, don't pour two IPAs in a row, go from IPA, to maybe a stout, to maybe a wheat, to maybe a sour, then back to the next IPA.

I find hoppy beers cling to my palate and skew other beers that I drink later. Case in point, I drank a zombie dust clone I brewed myself and followed it with a myrcenary from odell. I know the myrcenary to be superior to my homebrew, its a fact. However when it followed my homebrew, which was super fresh, catty, and tropical, the myrcenary lost all of those flavors, leaving behind something that tasted like tomato plant stems and onion. If I am tasting hoppy beers, I try to save the more intense ones for last.

I would think one after the other, it's a social/beer drinking event that should be enjoyed

I'm positive he must have been joking. If you've listened to his radio show you'll learn quickly Chris Quinn is a sarcastic dude. But he's also one of the best people in the industry.
