Anyone know if any regularly occurring bottle shares in the LA area? My buddy and I have been wanting to go to one for a while and Google is no help.
Depends, there's bottle shares all around. Flask fine wines in Sherman oaks does on on the first Monday of the month. 38 degrees in Alhambra does one monthly-ish... just check their facebook page to get updates Chris from Woodshop host a brown bag night on the third Monday of the month at HPB that runs by themes (tonight is "Funk") I used to host a downtown one at Beer Belly, but I've been dragging ass in actually getting it up and running again.
@lacraftguy Myself and a few friends do semi-regular bottle shares. PM Me if you'd like to join. We're between Sherman Oaks & Culver City. @Kramerwtmf
I've thought about trying to get an East Side one going (though anyone would be welcome) but it's really too difficult to plan with my work schedule. Alas, I drink my whales alone
I too would like to go to some shares. I'm in the sgv area and most of my friends aren't into craft. I got a weird schedule so I'm limited to weekend's.
Chris used to put up the brown bag events on here, but it's been basically word of mouth since, especially cause he text out the theme a couple of days in advance. This was an example of the event pages he put up. http://www.beeradvocate.com/events/info/70802/ Tonight's brown bag theme is "FUNK", bring a beer in a brown bag that fits within that theme, it gets blind poured for everyone and we rate them. It's actually a great little shindig as it takes a lot of pretentiousness out of beer when you're going off if you like it or not and not focused on bottle counts, labels, rarity and what not.
Sounds like a lot of fun. I will definitely make it to the next one. Shoot me info on how I can get the theme
Any happening in the August 21-26 range? Would love to bring stuff from OR and try some new stuff.. I'll be visiting family in Thousand Oaks but will have a car.
