Admittedly, I know the brewing scene is blowing up, but don't know much about NYC breweries distro.... but I'm wondering if there is a decent bottle shop anywhere that stocks the locals. Singlecut, Threes, Barrier, etc. not sure if any of these actually distribute, but where are the good shops? My brother will be in town in a few weeks and hopes to bring some beers home.

    Thanks!

I would suggest you follow The Shop @Threes Brewing on Instagram. They usually carry a bunch of locals (their own great beer included of course) and then you could actually see what cans they have in stock for your brother to pick up.

The two Milk and Hops locations and Good Beer in Manhattan are the only stores I go to that get all the breweries that you mention, plus others.

Clinton Gourmet on 10th Ave in Hell's Kitchen seems to do pretty well with the locals, too.

Yeah, I go there when I have the time. He's a good dude although his prices are usually a little higher than most. I've never seen Threes or Barrier cans there before (I have gotten Barrier bottles there, though) so that's why I didn't mention it.

Covenhoven is a great spot if you can persuade your bro to go to Crown Heights. Pretty reliable stocker of a lot of the locals. If he goes there, worth checking out Gold Star as well

I do think they have some of the best Barrier bottle prices in the area.

That I agree with. I got 10,000 FT Beard and Morticia there for good prices. I like the store. I like the guy who does the beer too. Good salesman, friendly.

They still have the Morticia, maybe one or two others, as of a few days ago. Overall I think It's got a nice selection for such a compact space.

I didn't read the op as being limited to just those breweries; those may have just been examples to give an idea. Keeping a few places like this, or the ones you mentioned, in his pocket for one stop shopping would be a handy thing if it came to that.

I'd also say keep an eye out for Greenpoint, Peekskill, Industrial Arts. Whatever's freshest, really.

How long will he be in town? All the suggestions above are great, especially milk and hops (my favorite when in NYC). If he has time, he might just want to hit the breweries. Especially Threes which has been mentioned. Great atmosphere/bar and they have a solid selection of local beer to go.

I think Threes has an arrangement with Whole Foods, so you can usually find their latest can offerings there.

I am a fan of Carmine Street Beers, they have a lot of local beers (all the ones you mentioned except possibly Threes) and they have a bar now too, so you can grab a drink while shopping. Nice guys too.

My wife will be in NYC next week. Will she find anything local at the Whole Foods Columbus Circle? Singlecut? Other Half? Threes? Interoboro? Finback? Barrier? Any of the good NJ breweries? Thanks!
