Check out Red Wagon if you're in Troy. Other than that, be sure to hit the Royal Oak area for Holiday Market and 8 Degrees Plato.

depending on what part of troy you are in, champagnes has a huge selection and also some draught beer. the bottles are priced cheap, the draught not so much from what i've heard. haven't been there since i moved from troy to macomb.

Their prices are a tad high for draft. I am assuming people are paying or they would be lowering prices.

f you are looking for convenience, just hit up Red Wagon. If you are looking for great selection and great prices, go to Holiday Royal Oak.

    Those prices are laughable.
    And no growlers?

    Another reason to skip Champagne's.
    Holiday or bust.

Like mentioned above, their bottle prices are still very low, as low or lower than Holiday. Gotta give credit where credit is due. If I lived on the east side, I would probably shop there, but probably wouldnt go to the pub.

In Troy myself and Holiday Market is the go-to for all around best prices and selection. If you don't have the time to run to Royal Oak and back, I frequent Off the Wagon. I really like the 'beer people' there and am okay with a receipt totally up $2-3 dollars when it saves 45+ minutes of my time.

    Agreed.

I love Plato, prices are good and their single selection is top notch......you can pick six from stock that is already split up or any 4/6-pack in the store.

Holiday also has a great selection. Both stores are about 5-10 minutes apart, making it easy to stop by the two in the same trip.

Holiday and 8 Degrees are pretty close together, so you might as well take the extra 10 minutes and drive to both. Royal Oak/Ferndale is also a nice area to wander around for restaurants and such. I like Champane's for selection (I've found a few shelf gems that other places didn't have at the time) and pricing on bottles, but I agree that it's not really worth paying for the drafts. Especially when Kuhnhenn is a mile away.

Red Wagon used to not be as overpriced as it is now and I remember getting some things there in the past that they don't carry now, particularly Belgian stuff like Girardin 1882 Gueuze. For the most part though I've found that metro Detroit sucks as far as bottle prices and distribution go which is why I usually just stop at Kuhnhenn or Witch's Hat when I'm on the eastside.
