Heading out this week. I stick to IPA, and DIPA. Looking for any bottle shop recommendations to pick up some mix and matches to taste some local mountain and west coast brews. Thanks for your time and help
Colorado Springs: Coaltrain W&S, Veterans W&S, J&K Liquor Denver: Grapevine, Mile High W&S, Small Batch, Mr. B's As for beers to try, in Colorado Springs def. pick up World Peace Death Ray from Bristol, as well as Epic Day DIPA and Crank Yanker IPA from Eddyline. In Denver check out Left Hand Extrovert (if you haven't had), Melvin IPA, Melvin Hubert, Melvin 2x4, La Cumbre Elevated IPA, Odd13 Codename: Superfan (any IPA from Odd13), Station 26 Single Hop Mosaic, 4 Noses 'Bout Damn Time, Denver Beer Company Incredible Pedal, Odell IPA. On draft you need to try Comrade Superpower, Look for Weldwerks Juicy Bits also.
I hear that the new Davidsons' Beer Cellar in Highlands Ranch just up the road from the Springs is pretty rad.
"Just up the road" is a bit of a stretch... it's a good hour from central parts of the Springs. But if you're gonna be in Southern Denver anyway, sure.
Sorry to hijack but any of these stores you listed sell any Funkwerks? I have my mother in law coming to Cali to visit and I love their beers. Thanks!
Funkwerks is ubiquitous throughout the FR- I'm sure she'll be able to walk into any somewhat reputable store and find you some.
Bubbles in Castle Rock has stepped their game up in recent months. I think they quit letting the wine buyer pick their beers and actually got a beer guy down their. I haven't seen old and expired stock in a while, and they have been getting things like Robot Librarian.
I'll give a thumbs up to Wine Cellars (The Bottle Shop) in the Stapleton area of Denver. I was just visiting family near that shop and I went there 3 times in 2 weeks. Not a huge selection, but had a different selection than most decent stores I went to. Also, had some beers that were obviously long gone from other places. Found a local BA stout that I didn't expect to see at all. Good prices too. Argonaut in Denver also had a decent selection. I came away with Rum Barrel Quandary by River North, Prairie Birthday Bomb, etc.
Thanks for the recommendations in this thread, I saw stuff at Mr B's that fly off the shelf in NYC. Also would like to add Champa Liquors, they had some great stuff (found BA big bad Baptist and no rules) and the guy gave me some free bubble wrap to get it home!
