I will be in Austin in early January, and would love to check out some good bottle shops and possibly some breweries. If I could only visit a couple, what do you recommend? For bottle shops, I am looking for a good selection of Founders (can't get it in CA) and some good Texas beers (Boxer's Revenge, etc.). Thanks!
Boxers was brewery only and they do not have any. They just started selling batch 3 Atrial. Bottle shops...E 1st Grocery for sure. Austin Beerworks is worth a visit as Sputnik is killer.
I'm pretty sure Boxer's a long with Ol Oi was started to get distributed in some places already.. also did it just run out like right now at the brewery? They said it was still available earlier today..
Boxers is out? No way. I know RU-55 sold out pretty quick... but that's RU-55. Funk Metal should still be available as well as Ol Oi & Atrial as far as sours are concerned. Bottle shops? See Sam at East 1st Grocery & Chuk at Central Market Westgate.
Breweries in Austin: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...huejhCSDZ5TllveFZsX0toTXc&usp=drive_web#gid=0 My recommendation would be for Hops and Grain, Jester King, and Austin Beerworks. As far as bottle shops: East 1st Grocery - It is on east Cesar Chavez just east of downtown. Sunrise Market - Anderson Ln north of town (make sure you go to the Anderson Ln one). Whip In (bar also) Bigger Stores/Grocery Stores: Central Market (both N. Lamar and Westgate) Whole Foods Spec's (Brodie or Arbor Walk or Airport are all decent) Beer Bars: Craft Pride (54 taps of TX stuff) Bangers Draughthouse Whip In
