Im visiting Canton for a few days, and I'm wondering if there is a good bottle shop around town? I'm from Virginia and I'm looking to bring home some things I can't get at home. Thanks in advanced! (Also, any good bars?)
Portage lakes brewing company is pretty good. Not a brewery but a good bottle shop. It's just south of Akron so prolly 15 minutes from the canton area
Canton Brewing is fairly new. Haven't been there but probably worth a visit. http://www.drinkcantonbeer.com/
Bottle Shops in the Canton area: I'd go to Wales Rd. and Fishers foods first. Then Erik's if there's something you couldn't find, but were looking for. Massillon/Canton, Ohio 1. Wales road one stop in Massillon - Great selection, most beer is stored cold and lots of singles/bombers 2. Fisher Foods Fulton Road - Great selection, Growler fills, Mix-a-six. 3. Erik's Grocery bag - Lots of singles all stored cold (watch for old beer) as a lot of it sits. Second biggest selection in the area. Will sometimes have some more limited stuff like 14' Abyss, Evil twin, 3F that sits around a while. 4. Butts and Brews Rt 62 Canton - Best selection in the area, overpriced on most stuff though. (FFFs $5 a bottle for gumballhead/alpha king) 5. Meyers Lake Beverage & Drive Thru - Drive thru, but you can park and ask to look around at the beer selection. Good selection, lots of bombers and 6/4pks stored cold. 6. Buehler's nobles pond - Grocery store with a decent selection and some singles (most singles are $2 each so a little overpriced on those). If you're looking for bars then I recommend The Winking Lizard on Fulton Rd. (down the street from Fishers) and The Rail at Beldon Village Mall. They have 24 Ohio beers on tap and almost all beef and ingredients are Ohio sourced. The Canton Brewing Company is downtown and their stuff is getting to be pretty solid. There's also Royal Docks Brewing in the same plaza as Buehler's. I've only had one of their beers, but it was good. BM me if you're looking for anything specific and I might be able to help you find it.
