Not really any place worth seeking out, and no place in WV will have beers that surprise you anyway. The distribution is just not very evolved.
While in Charleston though, you should visit Charleston Brewing Company. They are doing some good things there.

    Sorry.
Depending on your route to Chas'ton there might be a couple of other options though. If taking I64 through Huntington, you should check out the possibilities in Ashland (which might be meaningless for you) and also South Point OH. They have slightly different distro and you can find some interesting things. Just a short detour off the highway, and really the best options in that corner of the state.

Thanks jmw. Really appreciate the input. Driving from Lexington to Charleston and thought I'd look to see what my home state had to offer.

I recommend Leos Carry Out in Southpoint Ohio

I'd 2nd that. Only suggestion is to use discretion with the beers on their shelves--I've been in that store before when it had to be hovering around 100 degrees. Beers in the coolers is a better bet.

Oh wow that's not good it's been a while since I've been and later I'm the fall so I didn't recall it being like that.

The Ashland Beverage Centre is also worth checking out. I'm. hopefully going back this weekend.

Both ABC and Continental Liquors seemed to be a tad on the high side when I was there, but one of them (can't recall which) had a very enthusiastic beer guy

Leo's has gone to hell. I never find anything there anymore and half of the bottles are old. They have some decent stuff from Revolution, but they're all way past their prime. Continental and Ashland Beverage are much better. Continental is the cheapest of the three stores and has the most knowledgeable staff. Having said that, I visited all three last week and there really isn't anything exciting available. I'd wager that everything that Ashland has, Lexington has too.

Really? How long has it been since Leos has went down hill? Its been a couple years since I went.. I have never been to Continental I'll check it out next weekend if I go.

Also what do they carry? Theres no reviews here on BA. Good to hear the staff is knowledgeable.

When you live in an area like me where you have to drive a hour to get to Ashland/Huntington to go out to the mall and eat at a decent restaurant. A little on the high side doesn't compare to how much it would cost me in gas to drive to a comparable place to buy decent beer... I'm not gonna complain..

They pretty much carry the same things ABC does. There's Great Lakes, Bell's, Founders, Green Flash, etc. Sometimes they have Three Floyds. I've managed to pick up Zombie Dust, Gumballhead, Dreadnaught, and a few others in the past several months.

I'm not sure how often they get Zombie Dust, but they consistently have at least one Three Floyds beer to choose from.

very Rarely is zombie dust at continental but they do usually have one 3floyds on tap, and recently so has abc, I actually find more 3floyds in bottles at abc recently Apocolypse cow, Panzer wolf ect. Leos has gone alittle down hill because it seems like most of the beer is kinda old but I did find some stone ruinTen last time i was there which was two weeks ago
