Some friends and I are roadtripping to College Station this weekend for game and are wanting to get some beers not available to us in Mississippi/Tennessee. Specifically looking for Deschutes, Firestone Walker, Jester King, and/or Uinta. Any stores y'all really recommend? We've heard Spec's is good.

We are also looking for a good place to watch some football games during the day on Saturday. We're thinking about O'Bannon's, Washbangers or the Dixie Chicken. Any recommendations are welcome.

Really lookin' forward to the weekend, you guys.

I am no CS expert, but here it goes.

Spec's and there is one HEB (can someone clarify on which) that apparently has a good selection. You likely will not find any JK beers there except for maybe some of their shelf beer, and that is really hit or miss. As far as Deschutes goes, I believe Black Butte XXVI may still be on the shelves...along with maybe Not the Stoic. Their 6 packs are easy to come by. FW, you likely will just find their 6 packs and some bombers. You will not find any Parabola/Sucaba/Velvet Merkin/etc.

Uinta bombers are easy to come by, along with 6 packs.

As far as some other local options, I believe CS is more on Houston distribution than Austin. I would definitely look out for osme Karbach stuff. I tend to like Buffalo Bayou, but I know others are more tempered on them. I do not know if they get Hops and Grain there, but if they do, buy it.

As far as bars....100% check out Blackwater Draw. It is a small brewpub that makes solid beers. There is also another brewery (New Republic) that is open on weekends.

If you are driving, here are the breweries and their taproom hours in TX:

aschwab is pretty spot on. The main Spec's on Texas Ave. is your best bet for the beers you listed. The HEB on Hollemann and the one at Towerpoint also hold promise. I would go with O'bannon's or Harvey Washbangers for a viewing spot, probably Harvey's , as they have all craft taps and also offer off premise bottle sales of JK and St. Arnold stuff.

If you're road tripping to College Station, I would advise detouring thru Houston for bottles. You'll find more of a selection at downtown Spec's, D&Q, or if fresh growlers are your thing - Growler's Montrose.

Word of warning, all liquor stores (Spec's) are closed on Sundays. Grocery stores such as HEB that sell beer can do so after 12 noon on Sundays I think. In other words, do your shopping before the game, or at least don't plan on hitting anywhere up on your way out of town Sunday morning.
