I will be visiting DC this weekend. I wanted to know where are some good places to find bottles to take back with me to TN.

Not from DC, but met a fellow Beer Advocate member from DC last weekend and he told me Whole Foods on P Street.

Yea, WF P st has a good selection. Are you staying in DC proper? VA has better bottle shops in my opinion, but I don't know if you are willing to venture out.

O yea, and you can legally smoke weed during your visit. Have fun!

Oops, these are some other good places in DC - Cairo Wine & Liquor (1618 17th Street Northwest) & Connecticut Ave Wine & Liquor (1529 Connecticut Avenue Northwest).

If you are interested in some places not to far over the border in VA, I'll be happy to provide those as well.

I will be staying in DC proper, about 10 blocks east of the Capitol building.

Schneider's of capitol hill will be closest to you. They should have most of what Cairo or Connecticut Ave would have.

Whole Foods @ P St is a good stop, you'll also be able to walk to Churchkey from there.

P Street typically has a nice selection, and will go find all the weird stuff... they also have higher prices than most places I frequent.

Yea, that is crazy. The price is bad, but the other thing that gets me is the storage. These beers need to be stored cold and not sit on warm shelves

Totally agree there. This place is cool if you don't want to spend the time/money to go to major events to get some beers, but it would be nice if it was stored in a darker part of the store (downstairs) and somewhere cooler. The idea of buying a 80$ Westy 8 or Darklord for 100$ might cross my mind if I knew that the stuff had been well taken care of. That said, I can't really condone that kind of price gouging and reselling. All good beers but you can get something comparable w/o the hype or in some cases not quite as good from the cheaper and more readily available stuff anyway.

What are some of the good places in VA? Heading there for work this week and would prefer not to go into DC.

Honestly, TW McLean and Chantilly have great selections for the area. Norm's in Vienna is awesome, and, from what I've been told, Westover (though I hear repeatedly that their pricing sucks) have great picks too. Best of luck!

I'll be working at Reagan National Airport all week, so somewhere around there.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I went to Schneider's and they had a pretty good selection. Also, if anyone is looking, they have DFH 120min in the back. Just ask for it

Don't sleep on Arrowine and the two Lost Dogs in Arlington (one across the street from Westover, the other at Columbia Pike and Walter Reed Drive across from the Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse).
