    Good morning

I'll be in Vancouver for only one day, staying in a downtown hotel on Hornby Street. Unfortunately, I will not have any time to check out pubs, but would like to know of a good bottle shop close-by (preferably within 1-2km) to pickup 4 or 5 unique bottles to bring back to Ontario.

Does anyone have any recommendations. I've heard that the West End Liquor Store and the Legacy Liquor Store have good selections of bottled craft beer, but are there any places closer? The St. Regis Fine Wines and Spirits website shows a big case o' Bud, which doesn't give me much hope for that place.

    Thanks for any recommendations!

Check out Viti Wine on Seymour, it's been a while since I've been but I remember it having a small but well-curated selection.

Viti on Seymour, but be sure to check bottle dates
Steamworks Liquor Store on Water Street - small but they carry a lot of good stuff

Viti on Seymour is okay, but my favourites are Firefly at Cambie and 12th and Legacy in Olympic Village. If you take transit, Legacy is only about a five-minute walk along the seawall from Main Street Skytrain.

1-2km huh, well downtown isn't even/maybe?barely... 2km wide so you have lots of options

-Denman Liquor Store (15-20 minute walk tops from Granville St - best prices anywhere downtown aside from local stuff at the BCLs)
    -Legacy
    -Viti
    -Firefly Cambie
    -BCL Cambie and 8th
-Signature BCL near Robson and Bute
    -BCL on Robson and Denman
-Steamworks (meh...all the good staff left, but it's full of Steamworks beers now)
    -Coal Harbour Liquor Store

For the most part the BCLs will be extremely hit and miss, but I've been hearing nice things about Cambie and 8th having better import selections lately.

Important to note that West End Liquor Store and Denman Liquor Store (technically Denman Beer Wine and Spirits) are not the same thing. Denman is far better, like a block away.

Brewery Creek is your best bet.

Brewery Creek is not downtown (I'd also argue not the best bet, unless you live 2 blocks away and can run there before any new release runs out in 2 hours) Also, old thread.

How did OP fair? it would actually be nice to get some feedback from out of towners after visiting.
