I live in Dover DE and am looking for a close bottle shop in Maryland with a good selection, without having to drive all the way up to state-line.

Outside of Easton and Salisbury (which are both a longer drive than State Line?), I think you may be out of luck. There isn't too much out here!

I'm not exactly sure what qualifies as close. Liquid Assets in Ocean City has what I would call a decent beer selection, though of course it doesn't come close to what you'll find at State Line. It's a place I would certainly visit if I was staying in OC, but I'm not sure it's so wonderful that I would drive all the way down from Dover to go there.

If it were me, I guess I'd just bite the bullet and drive to either State Line of SEPA if I wanted to stock up on good beer. Good luck.

I commute salisbury to New Castle 4 out of 5 days a week. You could be at State Line in under an hour depending on where in Dover you are. Id go with that. Maybe Total Wine on Naaman's Rd or Premier but you are not going to do any better then those 3 for the radius in which you live. Whoa wait a second the place in Middletown has a decent growler fill station now that I think of it-Kreston/Krestor/whats its name?
