Hey, I was wondering what bottle shops I should hit around GR when I vacate there later this month? Also if you have any suggestions on fun things to do, non beer related (for my wife) I'd appreciate those as well. As for the bottle shops, I will be staying around the intersection of Covell Ave and Lake Michigan Dr NW, any ideas on good ones around that area would be much appreciated!
I agree with the Siciliano's recommendations; they will be the closest to where you are staying. For a non-beer thing to do for your wife I'll suggest Meijer Gardens if she's into flowers and greenery. http://www.meijergardens.org/ Even if it's a cold day you should get outside to at least see Da Vinci's Horse. Unfortunately this place is way on the other side of town, but GR is not so big, and the I-196 access will be easy for you to get there quickly.
LOL Covell and LM. Couldn't be in a better spot to hit Sicilianos. You could probably toss a baseball that far.
The Gerald Ford Presidential Library is very interesting, and there are a couple of good art museums downtown that are within walking distance from the Ford Museum.
it's a little bit of a hike (30-40 minutes) but i'd suggest driving out to odd side ales in grand haven. that way you can drive down to lake michigan and check out the frozen lakeshore and still grab a few tasty beers as well. win win.
