In Menomonie, WI and looking for local bottle shops that would have New Glarus, CW and other beers from this region. I was directed to Market Place by some locals, but it's basically grocery store shelf beer. Thanks for any advice. Tom
Whatever New Glarus you find at Marketplace is pretty much what you'll find everywhere. If you want a great selection and have a car, make the 45 minute drive to Hudson and hit up Casanova. One of the best bottle shops in the state. Otherwise try The Coffee Grounds in Eau Claire. Their selection. Isn't nearly what it used to be, but still more than grocery store shelf beer. I've also heard that Woodman's in Eau Claire is pretty decent as well, but I've never been there.
Thanks for the info. I did find a place named Junction Liquors that had some New Glarus Raspberry Tart and Serendipity. Might be shelf beer in WI for all I know. CW beers seem to be non-existent here.
All New Glarus beer is shelf beer in WI. They have the entire lineup in pretty much every gas station, grocery store, & liquor store in the state. The only ones that a little tougher to get are the R&D brewery only releases ( of which there is one this weekend) and even those are fairly easy to get by just showing up. CW brewers reserve, which I assume you are looking for, are seasonal. You already missed the Stout & Barleywine, but you might find some Cassian Sunset or Cherry Stout still lingering, but those are getting pretty scarce now as well. Good luck.
