I'll have a 2 hour layover after work in Philly on Wednesday. Can anyone tell me of a good bottle shop or two somewhat near Center City. Nothing further than a half hour walk or anything. If there aren't any then a good beer bar.

Thanks in advance for the help guys

Check out the Foodery at 10th and Pine for bottles. http://www.fooderybeer.com/
Check out Monks Cafe at 16th and Spruce for the best belgian menu and some amazing taps ( I see Mikkeler 19 listed) and of course Mussels and Frites to feed on...... http://www.monkscafe.com/

I second Monks and The Foodery. Another great beer bar is City Tap House on 39th and Walnut. Not exactly Center City, but a 10 minute (at most) subway ride straight up the Market Street line and a few minute walk from there.

The local 44 at 44th and spruce is opening today. It would be worth your time

Yeah, this shop is definitely worth a visit. Impressive selection (and prices) today.

You might just want to go straight to the airport. I don't know if 2 hours is enough time after work to make it to the airport and through security.

It's totally allowable for a man to miss a flight because of a beer related event. You might even brag about it down the road. You just need to blame it on corporate America when recounting the events to a spouse or significant other...don't let anyone hate on the beer event....

If that's the case go to Capone's, TJ's, Theresa's, etc etc.

No in my OP I said within a 30 minute walk. I'm going to check out the foodery on my lunch break tomorrow.
