I will be flying into Sacramento next week. However, I will have very little time, but I would like to make it by a store or two on my way to Stockton. I'm from Arkansas, so I'm hoping to stockpile. I'd love to find some RR, but that seems pretty difficult from my previous experiences. Any local insight would be immensely appreciated.

IMO, the best bottle shop in Sac is not in Sac, but in Davis, the Davis Beer Shoppe. Normally you can make that drive really quickly, as long as you avoid rush hour: 15 miles down I-80 at 70 mph (or maybe a little more) and you're there in flash. They get RR pretty regularly, but it sells out quickly, and you have to ask for it. But even if they don't have RR, they'll probably have all kinds of good stuff that doesn't distribute in Arkansas. Good taps too, if you can spare the time. Anyway, somebody will probably chime in and give you a bottle shop or two in Sac proper.

Thank you. How far is Davis from the airport?

not too far at all - the airport is on the outskirts of town that direction. probably like MLucky said - ~15 miles. DBS does a good job, Capitol Beer and Taproom in Sacramento has a nice selection that is similar but smaller than DBS. And if you venture as far as Roseville, Final Gravity has a great selection. It is doubtful that you'll find any RR, but you may luck out and catch it right.

It takes 20-25 minutes to drive directly from the airport to Davis. If you're staying in Stockton, that might be the way to go: just take a little side trip to Davis on the way down. You would go south on I-5 from the airport, take the I-80 west cutoff (the sign will say San Francisco), and then the Richards exit in Davis. That would be a little faster than going all the way into Sac, and then to Davis. Going on to Stockton, you would just take I-80 back to I-5 south. Piece of cake, as long as you not driving at around 5 pm, when traffic can get bad.

Davis Beer Shoppe and Final Gravity are your best bets, along with great bottles, they have great taps. If you are in Sac by Saturday, they are having their Anniversary Party, with some pretty amazing beers on tap.

DON'T GO TO PANGAEA. WAY TOO OVERPRICED.

I knew that eventually this thread would cue @abecall98 and his butthurtness over Pangaea even though he hasn't set foot in there in years.

FWIW seems quicker to go N on I-5 to Woodland and then S on 113 to get to Davis.I live 5 min south of the airport and sometime even go this way as an alternate when going to the Bay Area.Just exit at Russell (which becomes 5th) to get to Downtown Davis.

PS Plus I just dig the whole vibe of Davis for some reason.
