    Greetings!

I'm currently visiting in Atascadero/SLO and I'm trying to find a great bottle shop in the area. Can you guys direct me to some next level beer purchasing? I'm from CA, so I'm not looking for anything I haven't already had, I just love a new bottle shop.

    Cheers,
    Travis

In SLO there is Sidewalk Market @ 1401 Osos St, Sandy's @ 586 Higuera St, Cork and Bottle @ 774 Foothill Blvd.

Atascadero has El Camino Liquor @ 7403 El Camino Real and the Molly Pitcher Brewing Company is worth a stop.

There is also a BevMo in paso robles and SLO but they would have what most will . El camino liquor is best
    In Atascadero.

How long are you in town?

Check out Del Mar Liquors in Morro Bay.

    Cambria Beer Company in Cambria.

If I was gonna be in Morro Bay I'd be all over it. Be bouncing between Pismo and Atascadero this weekend

Going up there Monday morning from Orange County (first time). Part of my road trip to the Eclipse party on Thursday. Plan on hitting Molly Pitchers first, then Firestone, then go over to Cambria and finish off at the Libertine and stay in Morro Bay. Is this feasible or am I biting off more than I can chew? Also any lunch/dinner suggestions? Thanks.

You can pull that off, easily. There is another brewery in Paso if you are interested. Barrel House Brewing.

A lot of places will be closed on Monday.

My #1 pick on the coast is The Black Cat in Cambria. Reservation recommended. If you are travelling alone, ask for seating at the bar. Fantastic restaurant.

If dinner is in Morro Bay, my go to spot is The Galley, but there are plenty of other good choices.

Casual dining? Taco Temple in Morro.

Possibly. I'll be in the area for a week or so at Christmas. Do they regularly have their sours on draft these days? Haven't been since early this year and none were on tap. Seems from their FB that they are just starting the barrel program now so I wasn't sure if it would still be a year or so.

Keep in mind with this place that it is cash only and usually a fairly long line if you go during normal dinner hours. They also seem to have odd days/times off.

Another dining suggestion in Cambria is Main Street Grill sister company of Firestone Grill
In SLO (not connected to FW) awesome tri tip sandwich and fries. This place is cash only too

Thanks for all the suggestions. Looks like everything is open on Monday except Barrelhouse Brewing. Should be a good time. Cheers.

Yes, they have always had one of their sours on for the last year or so when I have visited. They are quite good, I have had several sours that are worse. Aging them in that dank and funky basement must help.

    W00t!

Let's work on this plan for later December.

I checked out Eureka in SLO. Nice selection and a nice place, but holyfuckingcrap!. 6oz pours of the better stuff for $9?!?!? I couldn't justify buying a second beer.

A little math says that (without waste) a 5 gallon keg will yield $960. So, 800% markup if it is a $120 keg? Daaaamn, people. I don't anticipate returning.

I have started a conversation with people who appear to be local about meeting up at Libertine, let me know if you want in.

Any update to the OP's original question about bottle shops? I regularly visit the area (family), and am going up this weekend. Is BevMo the only viable option? (besides a handful of liquor stores that carry only the most common craft brands)

I thought I read something somewhere that the Pour House has a bottle shop? Or maybe they just sell off-sale from their bottle selection?
