So it occurred to me for matters of distribution, that living south of Wilmington, DE I'm actually a lot closer to NJ than I realized. Are there any decent bottle shops near the 295 bridge in the Deepwater/Salem/Carney's Point/Pennsville area or do I have to get closer to Camden?
If you are willing to drive to west deptford, about 20 minutes from the bridge, Joe canals is a great store.
There's a bunch of good places in Philly area which are similar distance.... I'd say check the craft beer outlet (frankford), the beer store (southhampton), The Beer Yard in Wayne, Bell Beverage (sports complex area). I'm from NJ and find myself going to these places more often than not. Joe Canals is a SJ staple and there are sometimes some great finds. In my experience though they are really hit or miss and certain ones are typically better stocked (under shopped?) than others. In the Princeton Area (further up 295) theres a great Joe Canals as well as a Super Buy Rite (circle liquors) which is pretty solid as well. Hope this helps and good luck!
I grew up in South Jersey, near West Deptford and now live in Maryland so I make the drive to NJ regularly. Pretty much a wasteland in the far South of Jersey for craft, as xxbillay says, Joe Canals is a good store about 20 minutes from the bridge. Founders, Hopping Frog are some of the ones they regularly carry that I can't get in my area.
Thanks, I'll keep those in mind. Is Pennsville Township a waste of time? The most promising hits I saw there were J Tee's or Fornaro's. Anyone been to one of those?
