Have some family traveling out there for a few weeks. Hoping to have them bring me some interesting bottles. Hoping to find a Cantillon, and some Driftwood brews. Any suggestions for relatively close bottle shops? Thanks!
Hey there, you won't find any Cantillon around Ladner, or Richmond. For your best selection, travel into Vancouver and go to Brewery Creek, or Firefly. Driftwood should be readily available around there though. Good luck, Adam
Speed's (liquor store, not pub) will have some Driftwood. They actually have a small, but surprisingly decent selection given the fact they're in Ladner.
You can head up HWY 10 to 152nd St. and hit up Big Ridge Liquor Store. They have all of the year-round Driftwood releases, as well as Naughty Hildegard, Son of the Morning, Singularity and Old Cellar Dweller. When I was there the other day there were four bottles of Cantillon sitting on the counter as well -- not sure if they were for sale but maybe worth checking out. Definitely one of my go-to places when I don't feel like travelling to one of the big stores. Small but good selection of Belgians and some of the better west-coast breweries like Green Flash, Lagunitas, Elysian, etc...
