Hello fellow BA's. I will be heading to Aberdeen on Friday from Downingtown, PA and looking for bottle shops in the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
honestly... you are 30 minutes away from the best bottle shop in the entire state.. and one of the best in the entire East Coast. State Line in Elkton MD. Check it out.
You won't find anything in/around Aberdeen that can't be purchased at Stateline. In the event that stopping in Elkton is not a possibility, I'd recommend the following. Friendship Wine and Liquor - Abingdon Wind World - Abingdon Ronnie's Beverage - Bel Air Stateline is worth the visit and leave yourself at least an hour to look around. Their growler list is typically fantastic.
I agree, State Line is your best bet. I can spend all day there. Short Stop Beverage Barn is in downtown Aberdeen right off 40. They carry a decent selection for the area.
State Line is the only answer to this question. They also happen to have an extensive scotch selection - I've yet to go there and not find something excellent and relatively hard-to-find (by PA standards) sitting on the shelf. Beer-wise, they're great for everything, but especially for European beers. I've never seen a store with anything even close to their selection of Euro imports, especially from Germany and Italy.
You know what sucks about having one of the best bottle shops on the east coast in your very own state? Living in St. Mary's County. I do plan to make that pilgrimage to Elkton, though...one of these days...
I didn't ask the question but thanks for the info on this. I have at least two trips to the Aberdeen area scheduled in the next 9 months so I'll make sure to hit State Line as well during my travels.
