Great beer room, slowly reducing the amount of BMC products and allowing the micros to take over. Great pricing, selection & staff. Will also bring product in on request.

Beer selection isn't as vast at Sherbrooke (400 brands compared to 999), but that helps them have the good stuff, fresh and no fluff!

State Line Liquors in Elkton, MD. I love everything about this store. Unbelievable selection, knowledgeable and helpful staff, tastings, glassware, cheeses, all beers available as singles, did I mention the selection? The only drawback is that I live over an hour away.

The Beer Dept. at Binny's in Highland Park and Buffalo Grove are run by good guys. Always a nice selection there.

I totally called them 2 days ago and they said had no Stone IRS! I got 2 at Sam's today, though.

But <3 TJs for still having Wake n Bake. I'm tempted to buy them out of the ~20 bottles they had left, but I can't afford it.

Edit: It was 4 days ago, actually, but I'm mid-day tipsy.

Nikki's in North Providence, RI. Been doing it for a while and their mix a six is the best for miles.

Also, honorable mention: High Spirits in Providence (next to the big While Foods on North Main). Since they moved their store front down a couple of doors their craft selection has exploded and their staff knows what's up too.

For me, just outside of Grand Rapids Michigan, there are a few around here that I have been to so far.
Sicillianos: I LOVE the fact that they have a laptop on the counter for Public use. You can check BA for any reviews if that's your thing.
Martha's Vineyard in GR. Has a wonderful supply of beer. Some of the hard to find stuff seems to really stay around a while.
Smitty's Specialty Beverage in East GR. Kinda pricey, but I did like their stock of Double Crooked Tree that sat around for a while, as well as Plead The Fifth.
Drakes Party Store K-Zoo I don't like their prices, but I do love the selection of hard to finds as well as some usual faves. I was there earlier this week and they still had CASES of Dark Horse Plead the Fifth and quite a few 4-packs of Breakfast Stout. Just be prepared for them to take a bite out of your wallet...

One of my favorites though is a tiny little place in Hudsonville that really doesn't have a lot of beer. But I was able to find Dogfish Head, and in this area that's hard to do! The owner is a class act. If you ask him for anything, he will do his best to get it for you and always follows through on his word. I will go to him for anything before these big name places. He is AJ's Party Store Hudsonville MI

Anyone else got any places that I missed in the GR area that you like?

Beltway Wine and Spirits in Loch Raven MD and Honeygo Wine and Spirits in Perry Hall MD. Amazing, world class beer selections, super friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the best prices in the Baltimore area. Cheers!

Most of these have been mentioned, but I still want to give them a shout-out

    Stateline Liquors - Elkton, MD
    • Robert, the owner, is passionate about craft beer and been an advocate for decades. This is not in a craft beer mecca like Philadelphia, but in redneck, cow country of Cecil County (I grew up here, and drove past the store thousands of times before entering)
    • Belgian beer selection is unparalleled. Probably several hundred varieties of Belgian beers. Hundreds of pieces of glassware for sale in the back tasting room area
    • Club card discount program and they always have a kid take your box out to the car
Pinocchio's Beer Garden - Media, PA
    • Overall, the staff here has the best beer knowledge of any store I've been to.
    • Very good selection of locals, national brands and imports
    • Almost all the beer is refrigerated
    • 20+ beers on tap
    Cranbury Buy-Rite - Cranbury, NJ
    • Only been a handful of times, but everyone is helpful, willing to help and walk around the store to offer recommendations
    • Lots and lots of beers, thoughtfully organized
    • Matt, the manager, offered me a Cantillon Rose the first time I went in when I asked about sours
Sam's Qwik Shop - Durham, NC
    • A bunch of rad dudes work here, very helpful and will always chat with you about interesting local beers to try
    • Lots of interesting locals, but also national brands stuff like New Belgium La Folie that Philly/NE didn't used to get
    • Lots of glassware from local and American craft brewers
There are lots of other great stores, but these are my favorites that I would stop by at just to chat with good beer people.

Great thread by the way, credit where credit is due.

Harrikas Brew Haus in Swansboro, NC. 1 of only 2 real choices int he area, but this place could hold its own anywhere in the USA IMHO. Excellent freindly staff, great selection, rotating taps with free samples offered generously, drinking and shopping is encouraged, staff makes great recomendations. Atmosphere makes you feel like a "regular" the first time you walk in. I miss this place. :slight_frown:

They have an amazing selection of beer. Every beer available in GA, they have. New stuff, they get. It goes fast, but they carry a great selection of EVERYTHING. 60 taps for growler fills, and you can pick the guys brains and get suggestions for anything. 20 are for locals only which is really awesome.

Also have a killer wine selection, AND everything you need for home brew!
