I saw this this morning in a feed I get and thought it could work well for big stouts and other beers that are not heavily carbonated. The downside looks like you toss the whole stopper out and can’t refill them.

    Thoughts?

    Enjoy

    My thoughts:

I spent a few minutes web searching and it appears that this product is intended for still wines, I did not see any mention or reviews for using it for sparkling wines.

Would the fact that a beverage is carbonated (e.g., beer, sparkling wine) mitigate the effectiveness of this product? Maybe buy a few and give it a try? You can purchase four of them for 10 bucks on Amazon.

    Cheers!

I did watch a video overview on the repour website. There was no mention concerning placing the bottle of wine in the refrigerator after resealing; cold temperatures mitigate oxidative reactions.

I have this one - vacu vin wine stopper - https://www.amazon.com/s?k=vacu+vin...624584&tag=googhydr-20&ref=pd_sl_1rt1zj38h4_e

It works fine for capping a stout overnight or for a day or two. Doesnt work super well for much else (i.e. a 750 ml saison)

I’ve had a fair amount of experience with these over the years (wine tastings for work), and we would never use these for anything other than still wines. There was a specific type of stopper that could be used for sparkling, but it was only effective for short durations. I could see something like this being reasonably effective for something like a barrel aged stout or barleywine, but still probably no more than overnight.
