Oh trust me, I understand what you're saying, I just couldn't disagree more. No offense, but when you said you like the bottle being brought you unopened partly because it makes you feel like a connoisseur, I had to roll my eyes!

I really don't mean to disrespect though I know it comes off that way, but the elitism flowing around is quite funny to me.

I never order bottled beer when I go out, only draft, but this is good advice.

I got the impression while reading that that it was meant sort of tongue-in-cheek. What's that law? The one about humor and sarcasm in text-based comm? Someone mentioned it yesterday or the day before.

There's actually such a thing as an upscale burger restaurant ? How much did the burger cost - more than $20 ?

I only order bottled beer if I have my doubts about the cleanliness of the tap lines or if it's a really good beer for a really good price. Ordered a Sucaba in a New Bedford beer bar for only $20, and the bartender made sure that I approved before she opened it for me.

I don't have them bring it to me upopened, but I do tell them to bring me a non-chilled glass. Sometimes I get a funny look, but at least I can control that part of the experience.

IF I ever order a bottled beer at a restaurant, then I'll definitely ask for it unopened. Especially because I like to keep the caps =x.

I do keep forgetting that sarcasm, etc. does not translate well in print. But trust me, that's where that comment came from.

I split the check and didn't pay alot of attention but I don't believe so - probably around $15 - $16 but I do recall you could accessorize and push it over $20. And the beer [500ml bottle] went for $13.50 - that's why I asked for an unopened bottle.
