Looking for good hoppy beers readily available in 12oz bottles around Boston. Would be open to other styles like pilsners also as I love Post Shift (omg if I could get that in a bottle). I have really enjoyed drinking straight from a bottle lately. Probably nostalgia. Not messing with glassware, untapped pics etc. Never really enjoyed drinking straight from cans. So I’m looking for suggestions. Please no old school west coat malt bombs. I’ve been enjoying Lagunitas Mozango & Born Yesterday lately but the ones on the shelves are getting a little long in the tooth at this point. Thanks!
I've been really digging the Sierra Nevada Brut IPA (12-packs of bottles at the Burlington Wegmans for $13.49). Halfway through my second 12-er. Dry, bright hop character, pale yellow, light, easy drinking.
I think I've seen Road 2 Ruin by Two Roads in 6-pack bottles lately. I believe some NY and PA breweries like Southern Tier, Victory and Troegs still bottle IPAs. You'll get some good seasonal hoppy beers out of them, but the year rounds may sit on shelves longer and not be fresh.
Yeah I should pick up the SN Brut, didn't even think of that. Good call on Troegs & Victory, I've just never been a huge fan of their beers in general. But I haven't had any thing from them in a while. May have to check them out again.
How long has it been since Jack's Abby stopped putting Hoponius Union and the like into 6 pack bottles? I miss that beer in glass.
I'm always happy to have a Von Trapp pils if I'm not drinking Post Shift, the latter being an always-on-hand utility beer for me. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22512/126783/
The Helles is down here in CT. I've reported elsewhere that I thought it was off though, which made me sad.
7-11 in Franklin Mass. has 6-ers of 12-oz. bottles for $10.49. Same price as SN Celebration and Torpedo. An excellent value in my opinion.
In Northern Virginia, we started seeing Von Trapp cans of Pils. We've been getting bottles. I don't know if it will be a dual package option going forward or what.
