I prefer 'fermentation vessel'. That way I'm right, even if I'm wrong.

    Kinda like 'climate change'

Now where the heck did I put those pesky fermenters for my fermentor? Oh there they are, behind the split hairs

meanwhile behind the fasad of an innocent looking bottle thread....Which bottle should we use....

That would be, "façade" of an innocent looking bottle thread..."
oh, god... now I'm doing it!!! :grimacing:

Anyways, to the point, for the most part, any brown, pry-top bottle will work. Cork and Cage bottle will not - the opening and the lip around the opening will not fit the standard caps. There are a few bottles - generally 750s, that are capped but are a larger cap than usual.
Personally I don't bother removing the labels - if they come off eventually, great, if not so be it.
I also don't worry too much about storage - I rinse well when I empty the bottle, then let dry.
I then store them, normally in a box, sometimes not, upright. When I go to bottle, I take a peek inside, make sure there's nothing visible in there. I then rinse again, then immerse in sanitizer, for a couple minutes. At that point, I put them back in the box, upside down, with a couple sheets of clean paper towel in the bottom of the box. I'll fill a half dozen or so bottles at a time then cap, with new, sanitized caps. Never had an issue that I put down to dirty bottles or caps.
