I was aware of the release, just not the price. I hope this is for 750s, not 375s...

I think this was actually batch 2 on draft. XII.1, as in first revision. I asked the guy serving draft and he said it was the one from last July. Regardless, damn good.

Sorry for the snark. I think I owed you one
Yup. 750's. Seems like a bargain to me.

Ran in super fast for a bottle and a little taste around 4:15. Really small crowd. Good stuff.

But you know BW is storing many of those cases away to see if they can sell them for $100 a bottle in 2020, right?

There was enough beer on the floor at 4pm when I left to seemingly last weeks. I thought it was just pretty good - tequila barrel aged beers are not a trend that needs to go much further beyond this. Without being super savvy as to the difference in ingredients, barrel cost and length in the barrel, I am a bit curious why the price-point is so low compared to other high-end barrel beers from Lost Abbey.

Place was absolutely dead from 3-4. Fine by me, but a far contrast from last year.

I'm just glad that's what passes for snark in the PNW. And yes, quite a few people owe me one.
I stopped in around 5:30, grabbed two bottles. It was actually pretty crowded, relatively speaking. This was a Seattle beer event, after all.

Good question. Can't wait to find out if the bottles are as well carbonated as draft. Don't look to me to find out though. Popping one of mine isn't in the cards anytime soon.

I might have to make a trip up. From what I've heard this beer sounds good. Though I am wondering how the bottle does vs the tap version.

I'm turning in my nerd license tomorrow. I was told at the event that it was batch 1...also it was WAY different from a b2 bottle I opened about a week before...so weird. Draft was really funky with a good amount of fruit while my bottle was quite a bit less funky with even more fruit...almost juicy.

A former coworker flaked on me .... He was going to drive in from Renton yesterday but was bitching so much, I told him to forget it.

Any chance somebody would like to work something that would be mutually beneficial?

Ideally, I would like to score 1-3 bottles.

There are TONS left as of this afternoon. Evidently it's a blend of several LA beers, aged in tequila barrels. Sweet, heavy and boozy.

I had a Lost Abbey, Mystery Beer, Tequila Barrel Aged Sour Brown on tap at Stone Anniversary party last year, and Im willing to bet this beer is part of the blend. The mystery beer was not very good, hopefully having it blended with judgement day will make it better

I was told at the store that it is a blend of Bourbon Judgement Day, Brandy Angel's Share and tequila Agave Maria. I thought it had a very smooth blended flavor profile, and it makes sense to me now that other barrels besides tequila were part of the blend. Whatever the case, I really enjoyed it.

Yeah. I give the crew at Bottleworks and Lost Abbey a lot of credit for taking a risk and making a pretty unique beer with XV.

Sort of off topic, but anyone
Yeah, they could have just contacted Elysian and made, I dunno, a session IPA.

    OH, wait ...

About Elysian or Washington beer? Name me one Washington beer that is on the level of anything Firestone Walker or Hair of the Dog puts out, and I'll give it a fair try.

Nope. You can think what you want. I don't care. I'm not interested in convincing you otherwise. Nor am I interested in debating the relative merits of Washington beer. You went on record stating Washington beer is inferior and I went on record disagreeing with you.
Enjoy your California & Oregon beers. I sure do - as well as many fine Washington brews as well.

Though I agree with you that Oregon and California make more phenomenal beer, saying "name one" is a little bit absurd ... how about Old Birdbrain, Grandfather Raven, Wisdom Seeker, Trickster, Splinter, Kentucky Dark Star, Bourbon Abominable, Old Bridge Rider, Cowiche Canyon Fresh Hop (show me a CA or OR fresh hop that is clearly superior), Reuben's Bourbon Imperial Stout, Reuben's Imperial IPA and Imperial Rye IPA, Reuben's Imperial Oatmeal Stout, Reuben's Brown (show me a better basic American brown in Oregon or California?), Chuckanut Pilsner, Boundary Bay Imperial IPA, Bale Breaker Top Cutter, Bale Breaker Field 41, ANDddddd you get the picture.

But seriously, no one makes fresh hop beers as well as breweries from here.

You leave, you're the one with poor taste. Do you own the state or something?

Seriously though, Washington does homerism the best, and that's about it. Every brewery around here thinks they're the best, it's cute. Look, I enjoy living here and there are some really OK beers, but Washington does quantity vs. quality. Don't worry, at some point there will be a great beer from Washington.. it's hard to throw that much OK stuff at the wall and not have something stick. If you don't believe me, look at how many non-Washingtonians are posting here defending your claim, none.

You think that Solace, Pale 31, 805, Ruth, and Little Dog are better than any beer in Washington? Or better than everything in Kurmaraja's list? In my humble opinion , that's one of the craziest things I've read on BA today.
