So I'm pretty sure this thread has been posted, I just don't feel like looking for it. Anyway, I've heard that a lot of European bottles mouths are just a hair smaller than American bottles and don't cap properly. I capped a few empty ones of different shapes and sizes and the caps seemed stay on pretty well. What I'm asking is will some bottles work (I have a lot of Belgian bottles) or should I just stick to American bottles?

I heard using a bench capper they should cap just fine, using a wing capper you will discover some leaks.

If you have a way of measuring, standard cap size is 26mm.

I use bottles from the following breweries all the time with no issues: Orval (I have nearly 200 of these), St Bernardus, Brasserie de la Senne, Westmalle. Probably more that I can't think of right now.

I had a leaker on an import many years ago (don't recall which brewery) and have not used a foreign bottle since then.

I use them all the time without issue. I really like the Belgian bottles for bottling my Belgian beers. I do have a bench top capper; never tried it with a wing capper...
