I'm trying to find the Choice City / Mayor of Old Town in Boulder. Any good suggestions besides backcountry pizza and Avery?
Avery Oskar Blues (Longmont) West End Tavern Backcountry Pizza Mountain Sun / Southern Sun Fate Kitchen Upstairs BRU Handbuilt Ales West Flanders I guess though I've never been
There's a LOT of places that do good beer and food in Boulder. If you want specifically a deli/butcher + craft beer on tap, you wont find that in Boulder (yet). Any other combo is probably here though.
Yeah I forgot about fate. Might have to hit that up. Taking Wednesday off and just going up there with a buddy. I'm thinking brewery wise we'll hit Avery and upslope. Any new breweries you'd hit up instead?
Sanitas is excellent as is Wild Woods. If you haven't been, I'd hit up Upslope's Flatiron Park location.
No. Powder Keg (Niwot) is also good if you're hitting the Gunbarrel area w Avery and Upslope. But then at that point, might as well keep going and hit up Tasty Weasel (Oskar Blues experimental tap room).
Not for quality of beer, no. Those two reign supreme in Boulder. These are just some other options I really enjoy- Sanitas mostly for the environment and Wild Woods mostly for the people and the porter.
The food at the new Avery location is top notch. While you're "limited" to Avery beers there, they have a ton. They're sometimes forgotten, but Vindication (formerly Kettle & Stone) is over that way. Their American Bold is one-of-a-kind these days. Like a richer spin on Gordon.
