    Hi, all!

I looked around the forum and couldn't quite find what I was hoping for, so I thought that perhaps some locals might be able to help me out. I have to travel to Boulder CO for work, and I very much plan to enjoy it while I'm there. I should be flying into Denver Monday (2/1) morning, then driving to Boulder. I'll have training Tuesday and Wednesday until 4pm. Thursday is sort of up in the air (additional training if needed). Then I drive to and fly out of Denver on Friday. I know nothing about the offerings in the area; I've just heard that it's a great beer scene. So, what would you guys do? I'd really appreciate any tips you guys could give me. Thanks!

Avery, Fate, Upslope, and Finkel & Garf are awesome breweries. The former two also have some really solid food. Be sure to pick up bottles of Tweak, Uncle Jacobs, Fiel Al Estilo and Double D's at Avery.

And at all costs, go have a few beers at Backcountry.

Definitely hit Avery. The Tweak release in on 1/31. Also, I'd say to go to Powder Keg in Niwot. It's only a 5-10 minute drive from Avery.

Any good bottle shops I should hit? Any limited releases I should keep an eye out for? Thanks for the responses so far, and keep em coming!

Hit the Upslope taproom in the Flatirons park. If it's nice out you need to check out Sanitas Brewing. The other suggestions are all solid; I'll add that Avery's food is fantastic (as well as the beer of course).

Oskar Blue's Tasty Weasel tap room if you want to continue down the road - Avery to Finkel to Powder Keg to Tasty Weasel is an amazing 1-2-3-4 knockdown trip!

So I was thinking that once I land in Denver, I'll hit one store before trekking to Boulder. I saw Mr. B's, but if I'm only going to stop at one place, where should it be? Also, once in Boulder, I'll have 4 nights, and I'd like to stop in a brewery (or good bar) for dinner each night. I was thinking Avery, Fate, Upslope, and Sanitas. What say you all? Thanks again everyone!

I'm not a fanof upslope or sanitas.

    Avery is great.
    Fate has great food.
Go to Back Country Pizza if you can work it in.

Important note for visitors, places close early. Most around 11 except Mountain Sun.

If you like stouts, February is Stout Month at all the Mountain Sun locations (in Boulder, Mountain Sun and Southern Sun).

Besides hitting the obvious "must go to" Avery, I'd definitely hit Vindication, which is about 5 or 10 minutes from Avery. Mucho better than Finkel and Garf.

Mr. B's is great and well worth a stop. But Mr. B's is smaller, so if you want pure, mind-blowing variety of the eight ga-gillion Colorado breweries that are out there, Mr. B's might not be what you're after. If huge selection is what you are after, I suggest Argonaut for Denver liquor stores that are generally in between DIA and Boulder. Or just wait till you get to Boulder and hit Boulder Liquor Mart or Hazel's.

I'll leave the brewery/dinner suggestions to the Boulder folk, except to add the Mountain Sun/Southern Sun into you consideration.

Avery, Powder Keg, and Backcountry are the favorite spots for my wife and I. If you're still around on the 4th, you should definitely check to see if Backcountry is still doing 2x4 day, as it will be a great opportunity to try some Melvin IPAs.

Thanks again everyone for all of your help! I think I have my beer game locked down. It turns out that my wife may be joining me now. She's on board for my beer-ganza, but is there anything else (must-sees) around Boulder I could add onto the trip to make it more fun for her?

What Canada dan said whole foods is really good and usually has better prices than Hazel's. Hazel's is bigger and you will probably find harder to get stuff there.

The Dushanbe Tea House is really cool, worth checking out: http://boulderteahouse.com/

If you and your wife are athletically inclined, you can't go wrong with a hike in Chautauqua Park. Try the Royal Arch trail. It can get busy so go on a week day if possible.

There are plenty of great restaurants and bars around Pearl Street Mall. Worth walking through there at least. I haven't been yet, but West End Tavern is supposed to be great and have a solid beer list.

Other than that, I second Backcountry and Avery as absolute musts in Boulder.

West End Tavern is a great call -- we hit that place up regularly after a Chautauqua hike. Beer list is always solid! If looking for small plates and a bit higher end, Kitchen Upstairs is awesome and has a killer tap / bottle list.

Royal Arch is HARD -- FYI  We've also been doing the 2nd Flatiron trail which ends on the continental divide which is gorgeous too! Have fun!
