I will be in Boulder for one morning/afternoon leaving at 5PM on a saturday. Any suggestions on a good bottle shop to visit? I'll have a car and be able to commute. Not looking to wander that far.
The search function works fantastic! As well as the places/reviews section on BA. I've heard great things about Hazel's.
In all honesty, Boulder has a pretty terrible beer scene, nothing to really drink here. Cork has some great wine though and the farther east you go, the better beer you'll find. When you can no longer see the mountains that's when you know you're in beer central. Cheers! (I guess rkarimi made some decent suggestions too)
I think what ^he's^ trying to say is to go here Boulder in a day: Go to Backcountry for lunch, Hazel's and Liquor Mart for bottles, and Avery for a beer. Boom done.
3 Rivers Wine and Spirits in Longmont has a great selection of beer. That's in the eastern part of Boulder county is you aren't familiar with Boulder. While there Oskar Blues has a nice selection on tap or go to their tasting room, the Tasty Weasel. Lefthand Brewery and the Pumphouse are also pretty good.
Funny to see someone from Michigan answering the question by telling OP to go places that aren't in Boulder. I guess it beats the snide of the locals.
Thanks for everyones reply. I ended up having a little extra time and made it to Avery, Upslope, Oskar Blues, Left Hand, and then back to Mountain Sun. Yes i know some of these actually in Boulder, but i was able to make the commute. Best looking tap room I'd have to give to Oskar Blues. Best selection goes to Avery, they had 20 taps of brews to try, with about 8-9 of them being pub exclusive...food was really good too.
I've lived in Denver the past 19 years but am back in MI right now. I was just there for 2 weeks and my brother lives in Longmont.
