Hey folks- I'm headed to Denver Labor Day weekend and I'm try to decide on an itinerary. I've been keeping an eye on the forum, and you all have provided some good ideas.

I'm flying in Thurs 8/29 and returning Tues 9/3. Was thinking about spending the 1st 2 days in Denver and then heading to Fort Cillns or Boulder for the weekend, and spending the last night back in Denver.

Curious what you guys would recommend- Fort Collins or Boulder (or something completely different?)

The Fort. If for nothing else, convenience. Most breweries are in close proximity to each other

Why not spend the first night in denver, the second in boulder, the third in ft co, and the fourth back in denver? Have your beer and drink it too, you know what I mean?

If you have not been here before, you should really make some time to get into the mountains, even if its only a day trip.

From Denver, the Herman Gulch trail head is less than an hour and is a nice hike. Bring some cans with you.

You could also go a bit bigger and hit Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. RMNP is about an hour outside of Boulder and a beautiful drive. You'll go right through Lyons, the home of Oskar Blues.

You could also go up to Nederland through Boulder Canyon, hike 4th of July trail and hit The Very Nice Brewery in Ned.

Have fun, there's a ton to do and little will disappoint.

If your main focus is beer, absolutely Fort Collins. If your focus is also on the scenery and mountains, I have to go with Boulder on that one.
