So far I had tried again after at least a year some of Boulders offerings and I found them very lackluster.

Killer Penguin - Ok I know this isn't the greatest example since when I had it my palate had many better offerings but I found it not only lacking flavor but very boozy.

Mojo Risin - So far the worst offender I found bottles of this practically undrinkable. Way too cloying alcohol flavor and very little malt balance. Was relativity fresh too date was stamped "best by August 2013.

Obovoid Stout - Not that bad but way too cloying smoky character that throws the whole balance of the beer off. I remember this one being very tasty.

Anyone else been disappointed with Boulder lately?

Reminds me of some older craft breweries who haven't readjusted after newer brewers have raised the bar on quality/consistency.

Single Track Copper Pale Ale is the only one from Boulder I ever cared for.

Man that beer I have never seen and it had one low rating. I do like pales so I would be likely to try it.

I dont think your allowed to post criticism on this website.

Anyway I really enjoy both Mojo Rising and Mojo IPA. Do you usually like Amarillo hops?

Have not bought their beer in quite a while. Used to really like it when I worked across from the brewery, that was early 1990's though. Last time I bought a mix case and it was just ok but for the price it was aweful.

    Enjoy

Nail on the head with that comment.

They're still better than my local options but I've scaled back on buying them because of freshness issues too. When on draft I'll go for them occasionally.

I really don't want to be rude, but I don't think I've ever had a beer from Boulder that was any better than average. I realize that they were an early craft brewer, but damn, their brews are nothing special. Anchor, Sierra Nevada, and Boston Beer still make very good beers, and they, too, were among the progenitors of the movement we all know and love today, so I can't even give them that benefit of the doubt.

I drank them extensively in the mid to late 90's. Their Porter and Buffalo Gold and Pale Ale were excellent. Those days are over.

The Hazed and Infused is very good. It didn't exist back then but it's solid.
