I bough my first couple Boulevard beers and have been pumped to try them as I've just started seeing them around Va.

I'm currently drinking a Double-Wide IPA and I can't figure out if there is a BOTTLED ON date. I see a best by date of 01/27/13 and for IPAs I usually assume breweries date 6 months out but there's no way that's the case. Just wondering if anyone knows how far out this beer is dated.

Still a good beer btw just no hoppy nose as I was hoping for.

There is none. They show a batch number, which starts with the year (2012-1, 2012-2, etc.). You can usually figure out the bottled-on date based on the best-by date (e.g., Saison-Brett has a 2-year window, so if it's best by March 2013 you know it was probably bottled March 2011). Not sure what the window is for Double-Wide though, my guess is 6 months...

That's what I figured too but it's dated best by 1/27/13 there is no way it's 6 months out. I guess I could email them just out of curiosity but I like asking BA first as to not waste their time.

Yes, email them. For what it's worth, I've never been disappointed with any Double Wide I've bought and drank, irregardless of the best by date.

I do whole heartily agree, I guess I should have started the thread with that. I was just a little off put as the usual is 6 months out.

Most IPAs that I've had...the brewers put a 4 month window on if there's a best by date. Double IPAs are a tricky lot. Some, like Double Wide, stay the course for 6 months. Some, like Pliny the Elder, can't.
