Hate to bug you as well, but has this hit North Carolina yet? If not, do you know when we should expect it?

I've seen this a lot lately, haven't pulled the trigger yet though. Boulevard's large format generally keeps me away as a bomber is sometimes too much for me, especially with high gravity beers.

Just saw it at the Wine Source in Hampden. I considered it, but ended up with another 4 pack of Brewtus--a super value for a big coffee beer.

Hit Asheville not too long ago. Tasted it against Ten Fidy, Plead the 5th and Founder's RIS. Held up pretty well, wasn't super coffee forward but a great stout, especially at that price.

Beer Study in Chapel Hill has some. I grabbed a bottle last night.

Not sure if you've found this yet, but I picked up a bottle at the Southport Road Crown Liquors over a week ago. I came down with a bad sinus infection the next day so I haven't been able to try it yet.

Has anyone seen this in the DC area? I was in Kansas City last weekend and was advised I'd missed it there. I'd be bummed to miss it here too.

I haven't seen it here, only the BBA Imperial stout, which is amazing as well. I searched as many small "mom and pop" beer stores I could find but did not see any, nor did they claim to have received it...

It's really good. The coffee and roast is surprisingly mild but present, but I was blown away with how much dark fruit I got out of the beer.

The coffee Boulevard uses, is just not something I personally enjoy. Coffee ale was something I liked but wasn't enamored over.

This stout was the same.. If it had the BA treatment, may have bridged the gap, as I love that beer, but this one had me looking for more.

This one was quite good. Missed the barrel treatment like the regular IS but good nonetheless

I meant the subtlety of the bourbon allowing all of the other unique flavors to come through.

Just finished this beer, and I have to admit that I was incredibly impressed. It's an extremely coffee-forward beer, and for some reasons, the initial aroma and taste brought Victory at Sea to mind--that overpowering aroma of coffee and cordial. The first few sips had me asking where the stout was.

But as the beer warmed, the stout flavors became more apparent and integrated themselves with the beer nicely. It is very much a stout, albeit one with an extremely bright profile due to the quality and quantity of the coffee used.

Which brings me to my last point, I'm a single-origin coffee drinker, and coffee is just as important to me than beer. This one nailed the essence of Ethiopia Sidamo with its bright, fruity flavors of berry and fruit jam. I, for one, am glad no barrel-aging was done, as I think it would have blunted such an excellent coffee experience.

    Well done, Boulevard!

This was nice! Glad I had someone to split it with though. Big bottle for such a hearty beer. Wish they gave this the tank 7 4-pack treatment!

I'm beginning to feel it myself, so I understand what you mean. On the other hand, I wish I could drink this all day long.

Is this a belgian style stout? Rather, use a belgian style yeast?

No, we use Scottish yeast for Imperial Stout and its variants. Dark Truth Stout is fermented with our house Belgian strain.
