I wondered about this after I saw a Boulevard bottle that I'd never seen before behind the counter at one of my favorite bottle shops. (He keeps all kinds of "trophy" beers back there just to be cruel to his customers.) Must have been Love Child #1? Might have to stop in and check.

Anyway, I wonder what kind of distribution this is going to see? Of course I want this. I want at least one of everything from Boulevard.

According to BLVDbeerguyDFW in the Southwest forum Love Child#1 was not bottled.

    Cheers!

It was bottled, but I do not believe it was distributed or sold.

Interesting. I saw this bottle at least 2 weeks ago (seems like even longer), here in Seattle. Not for sale, though, as I said.

EDIT: Missed weatherdog's post w/ photo. That's what it looked like.

They've been killing for awhile now. The Smokestack Series is one winner after another Tank 7, Saison Brett, Sixth Glass, BBQ, Rye on Rye, Imperial Stout... Tank 7 is one of my go-to summer brews, so darn refreshing. Still working to get this year's Saison Brett and ISO: Love Child #2.

Just made a run to St. Louis and picked up a couple bottles of Saison-Brett (one for now, and one to age) and ran across a Love Child #2 by chance. Boulevard has an awesome lineup of winners with the Smokestack Series and I'm hoping they take their sours further and spin-off Love Child into a series of it's own.

I was introduced to my first Boulevard beer with a side by side 2009 and 2011 Saison-Brett a few months ago by local BA and have recently traded for Long Strange Tripel, Tank 7, Sixth Glass and have two 2012 Bretts on the way. I cant get enough Boulevard. They have worked their way into my top 3 breweries I wish got distributed to NY.

boulevard was one of the first microbreweries i ever had, almost a decade ago, as the wheat was everywhere. i still remember the first time busting out stuff like nutcracker and bully porter, new styles to me at the time, and then eventually getting bored and never reaching for boulevard stuff after my palate began to evolve...and then the smokestack series completely changed everything. they are some of the best beers i have ever had, and i feel lucky as hell to be able to purchase them on the reg now. it's amazing to see them evolve from a midwestern staple and personal craft beer launching point into one of the best breweries in the US. i can't wait for the stingo collab w/pretty things and if the hoppy wheat is the same thing they were testing out at the brewery a few months back, then i can't wait to be able to pick that up in six packs too.

Boulevard is the brewery that got me into craft beer when I was in Omaha for school. They are still one of my top 5 breweries. Now only if Love Child#2 makes it to Minnesota ..

Boulevard JUST came into the MD market and one of my reps(sells mostly Belgian beer and not Boulevard) is from Texas and she said Boulevard will thrive here because their stuff is THAT good. My store, which does okay with craft but is still sort of a 'corner liquor store' only carries the Wheat right now and while I love the box the 6 bottles came in, I didn't love the wheat(also not my style, so hey)...I went out to one of my favorite stores and picked up the Sixth Glass, Double Wide and Tank 7 - because you don't hear many bad things. Sixth Glass, a $10 for a 4pk, is a steal for a quad of that caliber. Tank 7 was great and the Double Wide while a little too malty for my IPA preference, was still great. I can't wait to get their stuff into my shop.

Now I await the day I open my BBQ I got in a trade a month back, can't drink that alone.

Anybody know if they are coming to Virginia? I've missed this brewery terribly since I left MO.

Picked up my bottle of Love Child #2 today. They have been busy this summer. It's hard to keep up with all the new releases.

Ugh! I really have confidence in my local bottle shop to get this in!

Love Child #2 is absolutely delicious, and making me want to try a bunch more sours. I would never think of mixing bourbon, fruit and funk but they knock it out of the park. You can age it, but I believe the brewmaster recommends drinking now for best flavor. Love the Smokestack Series, Boulevard really knows how to make a quality beer! Rye-on-Rye and Tank 7 are my other favorites.

Most of the off-the-shelf stuff is in Total Wine in NoVA now, so I'd assume it'll make its way down state eventually.
