Speaking of cork. It was VERY hard to pull. A friend of mine, who was opening it, really had to exert some force to pull it out.

Thanks. I'll contact them; it might be worth a try. Although it does appear that this isn't really widespread.

Boulevard always seems to require you to be aggressive with cork removal.

I've never had a bottle that wasn't extremely well carbonated. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I don't think it is very common for this beer.

Just tried this years batch last night, very impressed, carb level is much lower than I remember even fresh on last years batch, dont get me it isnt under carbed by any means its right on imo.

    Just to give an update:
I contacted the brewery and Steven Pauwels, the brewmaster, replied. He said that it's possible that the pressure escaped somehow, perhaps through a pinhole in the cork. He also added, which was interesting, that they had a similar incident about four years ago. And, to their credit, he offered to refund my purchase. I already received a check. Looking forward to giving it another try.

because with beers refermented and bottled with brett its a better buy pre aged than fresh since it won't take up space in your fridge or cellar while you wait to drink it:stuck_out_tongue:

I've only had 2012 on tap so far, the carbonation was spot on and it was funky delicious. Saison Brett is one of my all-time favorite beers. It's been my "birthday beer" for the last 3 years if that tells you anything. I've never had a bad bottle. I have 3 2012 bottles I haven't cracked yet. Hopefully you had a lemon.

i've had 5 bottles already (bought a case), all were perfect

i also think this stuff is way more awesome with about a year of age, but i cant stop drinking it when i have that much around

I had a fresh bottle a week ago or so. The carbonation seemed normal to me. Maybe just an isolated event?
