Boulevard Smokestack Chocolate Ale "Bad Batch #'s"

    Today a friend brought out a bottle of Boulevard Smokestack Chocolate Ale and warned me that unfortunately it was from a "bad batch" 2011-2 to be exact. After drinking it I found it to be slightly more pleasing then the draft that I had enjoyed as well. It was a little less chocolate flavored but I enjoyed the lightness and slight tart hint. Does anyone agree? Anyone know what was "wrong" with the batches 2011-1, 2, 3?
