Bourbon BA Big Sound

Ha I hope so! I work close to there, so I might swing by at lunch...trying to snag one more for a buddy who's out of town this weekend

 

Anyone see if Luekens got theirs yet?

 

Just opened a BA Big Sound tonight. Great stuff. Sweet, as expected, but great barrel character. Love it!

 

Its like the exact opposite near me. We have two ABCs that have very knowledgeable staff that no instantly what you are asking about if you call them up. Or at least if they have it in stock. Usually only the "beer guy" and/or manager knows when they should be getting things in. Total Wine in Tampa on the other hand is horrible. They have a great selection but none of the employees know anything about it. I've been told multiple times they are sold out of things that I later find (or find out from someone) are just sitting out on the shelves. Only thing Total Wine has going for it is the ability to purchase online for in store pick up.

However, in my search for BA Big Sound, I did end up calling some ABCs up in North Tampa/near USF and the employees I talked to had absolutely no idea what I was referring to and were of no assistance.

 

Just stopped by TW on Colonial while I was out and they said it was expected to be on the truck but wasn't, they expect it sometime next week.

 

Luekens has it. 3 pp at 25.99 in store only.

 

Love that place. And looks to be a pretty awesome price as well. Have at it locals!

 

I'm not gonna go out of my way to spend $30 on a beer. I'll wait until someone inevitably opens a bottle and shares a half oz pour with me so I can rate it and pretend to have drank a full serving of the beer.

 

Yeah Crown is charging 30 bucks, forget it. Got it at ABC yesterday for 26 and even that much was an internal debate.

 

I paid $29. Opened one last night. Completely worth it.

I went back and forth between 1 or 2 bottles. I really like Scotch Ales, and if somehow I don't enjoy it, it should have some trade value.

 

Called ABC in Winter Park at approx 12:30PM and was told that they had already sold out of BA Big Sound and MZ. Supposedly the truck came in at 10AM and they sold out at 11:30AM. Looks it has come down to taking early lunch breaks or taking days off from work to snag some of the limited releases.

 

2015 Hunahpu will be world class shit show dealing with these places and distributors....

 

Went to a few places late this afternoon and struck out everywhere, very sad. All this cash and no bottles.

 

Total wine at colonial had it in stock stashed behind the counter. Girl in the checkout lane said she now feels bad because she's been telling everyone all day it didn't come in.

 

Called around and hit a few places today, looks like this didn't hit Miami yet and if it did, it was immediately swiped up.

 

FYI. Whole Foods Carrolwood has it, but its hidden. Ask their beer or cheese people and they'll get it from the back. 2 bottle limit. 26.99

 

I walked in at 6pm without knowing it was even supposed to be there, asked what they had behind the counter, and he opened a box of big sound and said it had just come in "literally a few minutes ago". That said, I left with a bottle.

 

Called around So Fl this am and came up empty. Missed the bottles right here in Boca. They have 1-2 left in the Boca store, staffer said "those baby's are for me" I replied "nice", glad you told me.
