Memorial Day weekend isn't the easiest time of the year to get a room in Asheville, but gonna try to make this happen if at all possible. I don't usually go crazy for stout releases, but this is one I've been waiting on for a while and there's basically no way it won't be awesome.

I love skillet doughnut. Put it in bourbon barrels and it can only get better. Can't wait!!

Never been a fan of this beer; basically tastes like cake frosting to me. Hopeful the barrel aging will balance it out, not unlike BA Bomb.

Already camping in AVL this weekend, so perfect! Skillet is one of my favorite beers from Burial, should be super tasty!

I'll be there as well. Always in town that time of year as it's usually my first weekend at our place outside of aville.

Hopefully golden angel drops again that weekend too so I can hit both.

Love me some skillet and burial.

One of my favorite stouts, so I'll definitely will be there. Wonder if they'll have the bottle artwork to see at the Sharpen the Blades festival tomorrow.

I'd love to try this beer. Skillet is one of my favorite stouts.

Price point is pretty dang good. I paid $16 for a 750 of the regular skillet when they first released it a year and a half ago.

So excited that my fiance and I will be in town from Texas for this! Have they released a bottle count? I don't see one online - just trying to figure out if we need to get there early.

Burial doesn't usually release bottle counts, so its a big unknown with all the factors that play in, especially with it being Memorial Day Weekend.

Typically the rule I use is whatever time I think I need to be there, drunk stumble over an hour earlier. (It is Asheville afterall, plenty of good places to wet your throat at!)

I'm sure they have a decent amount if they're doing 3 per. But I also think they'll see a pretty big turnout as well.

? It's not a sweet Stout despite the name.

Skillet does have a little noticeable sweetness, but I always get bitter coffee dominating the overall profile...which is just the way I like it.

I kind of wish they were doing this during the release instead though. :slight_frown:

Just didn't care for it at all. Bought a 4 pack blind after hearing all the hype (plus I tend to like Burial beers) and gave 3 away.
