I'm still finding many of the Dragon's Milk variants around. I recommend the Triple Mash and the Vanilla Chai if you can find them

I 100% agree with this!!! Such an underrated beer. I love it. Anderson Valley's Huge Arker too which is just a bigger version it seems. Heavy Seas Siren Noire is very solid as well and you cant beat the price tag!

Dragons Milk and the variants are all solid above average BBA stouts. I regularly keep a 4-pack for when the BBA mood hits.

Yes, @Scott17taylor is spot on. Technically the Yeti aren't bourbon barrel aged, but they are aged on oak chips so you get a nice oaky wood flavor in the beer. They're similar enough that I'd recommend giving them a try - I love them. Also, for what its worth, I thought the regular lineup (oak aged, oatmeal, chocolate, espresso) Yetis were better than their BBA aged one anyway.

I dislike all clean oak aged beers so I disagree with your similar enough comment.

Obviously there is no bourbon character in clean oak aged beers, so its not the same, but its a similar concept so perhaps the OP will like it. Its worth a try for him.

There are enough differences between wood aged and barrel aged that I would make sure if I recommended it as barrel aged I would specify they aren't barrel aged. I agree with them being similar enough to recommend only because there aren't a ton of readily available barrel aged beers.

I love barrel aged stouts. Haven't had Hoppin Frog yet, but Dragon's Milk is my go to year round, or when I don't want to crack a more expensive and limited bottle. Great stuff for the price. There's a lot of garbage barrel aged stuff out there IMO, it's nice to have a solid go to beer. Aside from the obvious of Bourbon County Regular, I really enjoyed the Barrel Aged Narwhal, just wish I had bought more.

Speedway Stout? The non-BA version is easy to find but is a double (12%) and tastes fantastic despite not being a BA beer.

I just wish it was at least in 4 packs. I just don't want to drink a 12% bomber alone in one sitting.

Nice. I guess shelf life varies in every market.

I think this is my least favorite of the Bomb varieties (not that its bad), but it was the fastest off the shelves in my area

I'm not opposed to oak aging. But I really like the flavor profile and complexity of bourbon barrel aging. That's what I'm looking for in this thread. But thanks.

I've never seen barrel-aged Narwhal, but I bet it would be good. Narwhal is a very good Imperial Stout.

I had one last year. Unfortunately I held it and didn't drink it until after they were long gone from most shelves. Delicious, but for some reason I read it won't be released this year.

I think it was released in November or December last year... seems strange that they would make that decision already
