Any idea what that is in the bottom right? Looks like a Bourbon Barrel Amber Ale, but I cant tell for sure. Anybody been to the Eccentric Cafe lately? https://bellsbeer.com/ftp/tapshot.big.jpg?r=422279
It is Bourbon Barrel Amber Ale, my buddy is there right now and he told me it's great. He also thinks Dagger Stout is better than Expedition Stout.
Hmmm interesting. In that case I will be headed to a few of the bars around me that I know have had Dagger sitting on tap for a few weeks now.
Dagger is awesome, I prefer it fresh to Expo. We can assume how Dagger may age, think Batch 7000, but comparing what is on tap now to a properly aged Expo is just not fair.
If you like a hop-forward Stout, you'll enjoy Dagger. For those who say they like this better than expy: I wonder if you're just a skirt chaser (always looking for newest thing). Don't forget how "hot" that consistent girlfriend you have really is.
Even the people who sing the praises of Expedition the loudest are often the first to say it is a bit rough out of the gate. Dagger is more well rounded from the get go, I can see why people would prefer it. Bell's may be the best stout brewer out there, their line up from top to bottom is not one many can match. High praise for Dagger should not be taken as a slight towards Expo.
Just left the Cafe, the Bourbon Amber was on tap again. I was a bit skeptical of the Amber in a Bourbon Barrel but it paired very well. The maltiness of the the Amber paired well with the restrained barrel character. The Brewers Guild 15th Anniversary was very worthwhile as well.
