I live in Louisville, KY and create things out of used bourbon barrels. I have a lot of scraps and create "chunks" out of them for people to use when grilling/smoking. They are about 1"X1"X1" in size. I have had a couple people interested in them for homebrewing to bba their beer. Would this be a good thing to start marketing and selling? Is there anyone on here interested? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

I think a homebrewer would be playing Russian Roulette by using these chunks because of the possibility of unfriendly bugs that have been ground into the wood (primarily the exterior surface parts) over the years of bourbon storage. These chunks could be difficult to sanitize, and maybe sterilization procedures should be used to be certain that the wood is clean. I'm certainly not an expert in this area, but that would be my concern for you to think about and explore before you market them.
