I drank one, it was good not great
Nose was sort of a white wine/pear and a bit of whiskey..looks a clear bright copper with a small white head..taste is interesting, not very strong, starts with sweet malt and a hint of whiskey/oak, hops are faded and show up mostly at the end in the form of sharp bile-ish bitterness.

It was "interesting" It is nothing like regular ruination, but I can see where they were going with it trying to play off of regular ruinations strong malt backbone.. but in the end a bitter BA barleywine is not for me, I give it a 4

I'm the one that started this thread and forgot to come back with comments after trying this stuff...doh! Anyway, agree with the comments above. The bourbon flavor blended strangely with the hoppiness to where neither were dominant. Kind of a peculiar bitter caramel. I liked it but no wow. I still have 2 more bottles but not in a rush to open them.

I'm with you. Waiting for a TV commercial that shows Miller Lite is now BA .

I think it's weird that so many people hate on BB IPAs. I get why there is controversy among many attempts, but keep in mind that not all IPAs are 'base malt and hops.' Some actually have complexity besides hops and, dare I say, benefit from the BB. What a crazy concept! It's almost as if these world-class breweries know what they're doing!!!

One of the best BA Beers I've had was a OB Gordon on Stranahan barrels. Deliciously smooth - not really an IIPA anymore, but very tasty. Despite the mediocre reviews, I'd be interested to try this.

But, alas, I live in Alabama, and we get no Stone.

I still think it's better to sip the Bourbon with an IIPA back, but that's just me

Yes my wife brought one home for me, as well as a dayman colab. IPA that I was a little sketchy about, turns out the "coffee" ipa was really good, I have not tried the ruination yet, maybe I will crack it tonight and let you guys know how it goes! It is either gonna be really good , or an absolute failure.
