Interesting, I spoke with a brewer somewhat recently who suggested that the Proprietor's would be a cinnamon based stout, curious if that has been incorporated into the "hazelnut/mocha" idea. Also hearing that Vanilla will be made and that they have a huge new warehouse that should allow for BCBS to be released almost bimonthly in the future

ok, if I were to come to Chicago on Black Friday weekend, would I be able to find a bottle or two or would it mostly be gone? Im really just interested in the original or vanilla since I have never had it before. Prop would be great if I could find it, but I am not going to fight for it

If they're doing another Rare does that mean potentially another King Henry?

BCBBW is possibly my favorite beer...KH is my white whale that hopefully i'll have the ammo to acquire at some point...It would be awesome if they did something similar again in case I never end up with KH haha

I was of the belief that I would be content never having KH, with all of the people that say it's so close to BCBBW...Then I had B.O.R.I.S. van wink and just thought crap...this is very good and I don't really find B.O.R.I.S./BA B.O.R.I.S. to be all that great. So all I can imagine is virtually my favorite beer just better haha. I know that may be completely unwarranted but it's the unknown which seems to ultimately drive everyone who choose to chase whales...I also fully understand how much it'll take to get KH and have considered the mbc route believe me lol. Thinking if I haven't gotten it by my birthday I may be asking the wife haha...To actually respond to the OP though, I woud be down with Vanilla/hazlenut mocha for sure those both sound delicious...I haven't had a BC yet that wasn't exquisite.

If it is anything like last year, a lot will be released before Black Friday. But it is doable depending on your willingness to get up early and stand in some lines. But I had gotten enough by Black Friday that I didn't end up going out on Black Friday.

But if you come quickly you can still get last years Prop

in reality, intelligensia is just down the street from GI's fulton ops and i can't see them changing suppliers. maybe a different roast?

Each year is a different roast. No two years of BCBCS is the same I believe

Wouldn't want a kidney from anyone on this sight. Especially from some one that is willing to trade one for a 12%+ ABV beer...

You will need to give me something else.

Good news now I don't have to trade $250 bucks of beer for a vanilla. Will the Proprietors be a Chicago only release again? Last year the Coffee wasn't that easy to come by. I wish I had more of it.

Yeah, they announce each year's coffee roast when they make the big release announcement for all the Bourbon County beers.

Has much more to do with your location. I work for an AB distributor that carries G.I. but we generally don't get BC because of a few reasons - 1. this is not a craft market, this is Bud country - 2. We are a rural area, and a small distributor, if AB or G.I. decide who gets some, it's not us. Last but not least - MOSTLY, in fact, it's just too expensive for us to justify purchasing, due to reason #1.

Me too man!! I think this might be the year, but it honestly isn't hard to trade for. We have plenty of shit to trade for BCBS and the Barleywine. I got both last year no problem through trades.
