I've heard northwoods and barleywine bottles will show up next week. Didn't see any. Barleywine was actually my most wanted of this year's bunch.

Most of my spots in the Westside and South Bay got some northwoods. BW and reg where around, I found BW limit 1 at a couple spots. One spot in hermosa had BW at no limit.

Apparently City beer store (CBS) had coffee, BW, Northwood and regular. The only non elusive social media posting they did was at 2:44 yesterday saying coffee was gone but they still had Northwoods and BW. So bummed. Could’ve gone into SF from the east bay but since I got shut out 2 years ago at CBS (I only got regular) after getting there at 6:00 am I would’ve never guessed anything other than regular would still be around. Costco in Concord had regular for $8.79 but believe it or not it was 1/pp.

City Beer posted on Instagram five days ago with a pic of BCBS, BCBBW, BCBCS, and Northwood. It seemed pretty clear they were selling the variants.

Yes they had a picture but they were being discreet. U had to know the label colors to know what they had (and I don't know what The Northwood label looks like). It was never written anywhere. To make matters worse I read the article someone on here put a link to by Jared Jankoski of GI saying they weren't releasing Reserve Barleywine because it didn't turn out right which I took to just mean their regular Barleywine so the picture from CBS kinda threw me off.

My buddy showed up at Royal liquors in SJ to no avail where they posted online that they had coffee too and apparently even the 2nd guy in line said there was none. And someone on the CBS thread even commented "reserve is on the list on the City Beer website" which I don't think ever materialized. The point was more that I couldn't get there until a little after they opened and two years ago I was there at 6:00AM and 30-40th in line and all but regular was gone by the time I got to the front of the line. Just a bummer. I'm clearly not savvy enough (on social media or otherwise) to score any but I also live 1 hour from the city so it makes it tougher. Awesome that everybody else got hooked up

So, apparently the Reserve stout was distributed to CA? I thought only Kentucky and Chicago got that one, based on the GI info.

City Beer had 22 bottles for the early arrivers (1PP.) Have no facts to back it up, but the rep claimed there were only something like 8 cases split between CA, NV, and AZ, and CBS got a quarter of it

Doesn't sound right, Total Wine Redondo Beach had like 4 cases. Total Wine Tustin had is as well. El Cerrito and Mr K's both had a case each.

Man you guys in Southern California are lucky. Our total wine, at least in the San Francisco Bay area that I live in, doesn’t get anything other than regular BCBS.

Wow, thanks for the info everyone. I anticipated the reserve not being available so I didn't even search for it.

There are 4 cases of BW at Palo Alto Fine Wine and Spirits today if anyone is interested.

Pretty stoked on my BC horde this year, was able to get one coffee and northwoods, and 3 BW, with 3 regs. Looking forward to CBS next!

It's a hike, but TW Palm Springs still has:

    32 CS. Boutbon County Stout

    3 CS. Bourbon County Barleywine

It appears that they have removed the bottle limit, so if you are looking for quantity, it may be worth the drive.

Tiny liquor store in Pasadena (on Allen just north of the 210) called M&S liquor has a bunch of regular, barleywine, and northwoods, albeit at a pretty steep markup ($18, $20, and $33, respectively)

That's not bad for the Northwoods. A buddy in Chicago just bought one the other day for $40

Yeah, the Northwoods I saw (granted at a place that usually has a significant mark up) were priced at $25.99.

Davis Beer Shop had 5 cases on the floor last night (11/30) at $11.99. 2 bottles/person/day

Whole Foods 365 on Glendale Blvd. had Northwoods, BW and Regular just now. Not in the normal beer fridges - lucky I stumbled across it.

In San Diego for a couple days, coming in from the north. Anyone have any intel on some barley wine or coffee available? Can swap a northwoods if needed.
