Sounds like we were probably standing close to each other in line. When we were waiting to get in I started to realise people were walking out with a bag or couples had a single box. I pointed it out to a few people around me as soon as I could see in. I said it’s reg and Barleywine left. They were shocked. I sent a text to a friend further back in line and they were very disappointed. I grabbed my stuff walked past the line and told them they’re going to be disappointed. Stopped by friend told them this was a waste of time. Tried to grab a beer at Goose Island but that annoyed me too. The small bar had 1 guy running it, the larger bar had 4. I waited for a while and said F this and left. Goose Island had the bars understaffed. There was space there but it was difficult to get close enough to the bar to order a Beer.

Less money I spent on bcs this year means more money I can go back and spend on revs cafe or deth, both equally good

the line cutting stemmed solely from drunks and sleepyheads not packing up their tents when people in front were already compressing the lines and leaving HUGE gaps. Assholes take advantage of that. Keep it tight, and things end up right.

Transient was Illinois before Michigan

Anyone that travels to those releases is a fool. They all see distro here, even the special release stuff

I've lived in Chicago over a decade now, and I think this is a bullshit idea. If it's first come, first served...then it's first come, first served.

The line-cutting stuff is awful & should be eliminated, but requiring ID checks sounds like some George Orwell stuff.

It’d prob still be IL if real estate wasn’t a kings randsome here

This makes me sad. I know the neckbeards are all about the stout this and stout that, but there are some of us that love barleywines too. Barrel aged stouts and their "variants" are incredibly well represented already, let's not advocate for the removal some years of a wonderful barrel aged barleywine so we can add back even more stouts.

I'd add that the BC Barleywine ages incredibly. Can't speak for the pasteurized versions, but the pre-2015 Barleywines are just liquid gold right now.

Fair enough, and in many ways I agree.
I just don’t want to read any more posts about how someone “only” got regular and BW.

Ha ha. Illinois is the only place with good beer. I guess I won’t ever see anyone from Illinois at New Glarus or at Central Waters for Black Gold or 20 releases because those don’t leave WI.

I know I’m late to comment on this but I still have a 2007 & 2008 in my possession and they have a black cap with a goose island logo. If I knew how to post a picture from my iPhone I would.

I actually think the embossed glass with small identifying tags looks pretty sharp.
