I'm just here at work wondering how some of you guys have so much time to go to all these liquor stores and find these variants?! I'm just jealous. Lol!

 

Yes, Binny's occasionally does this - I was actually surprised when a guy there offered to save me something (or maybe I was worried about how much I was drinking that he knew me that well ...). You're comment about "not all" is the key, though. Whether it's small shops, WF, or Binny's you have to pick and choose your battles. You can't be a greedy bastard that wants special treatment on every release, you need to be happy with what you get and respect the fact they're trying to run a business (especially the small places).

 

they get shafted pretty regularly. they just don't push the volume to justify more variants. last year they didn't get prop, got a case each of the other non-regular. i'm in there once a week for God knows what, and the beer guys there aren't expecting any more this year.

Anyone know how they do the bottle replenishments at fulton and wood? I showed up on friday to see the last bottle of prop popped. Was hoping they would have more today or this weekend. Is it just random?

 

Agreed 100%. I don't expect special treatment when it comes to releases. I just think it's very nice that they take care of their regulars when they can.

Blue Gene is my favorite fruited barrel aged beer, damn it was amazing. So I had high hopes when I heard Founders was doing a blueberry, and the same with goose island. Northwoods nor Lizard of Koz are even close to blue gene imo, though I prefer northwoods to lizard of koz

I will say I've been extremely Lucky this past week with beer. Seeing ZD just made me laugh, icing on the cake. When you are passing up coffees you know you have done okay.
