For those looking to go to Local Option for BCBS variants, I would suggest not. Place already has a line out the door to get in.

 

LO was my original stop to try CBS years back. They tapped it at 12; I arrived at 12:05 and was about 15 people back waiting to get in. The entire place was packed to the point where no one else could enter. I have since crossed LO off my list of places to go for this sort of release.

The issue with Local Option is that people will get there hours before (since they don't tap when they open), so by the time a CBS or Prop actually taps, the entire place has been filled, and your odds of even getting in before it kicks are very low.

 

I made this mistake. Thought it wouldn’t be too crazy and I could have a couple beers on my lunch hour. Boy was I wrong. I waited in line for 30 minutes and it was still gonna be another 30 minutes to get in, so I bailed.

 

LO can be hit or miss with how crowded it gets. Sometimes it's nuts to butts, other times it's dead until people get off work.

For this one though, I would have either arrived at 11am and waited so you could get a seat at the bar or a table when they opened, or skipped altogether.

 

Fireplace Inn might not be too bad to check out tonight at 6.

 

Funny thing is that I thought they opened at 11 and realized as I was walking up that it was Noon. There was nobody there at the time...never even crossed my mind to get in line at that time.

 

Lining up outside of a bar before they open makes you feel like a sad alcoholic.

 

but once i get that pour i go right back to being a happy alcoholic

 

Took 75 min to get in walking up at 1:00. Only 17 Prop had kicked.

Have date night with the wife, otherwise I would be. FYI - I think they are doing a timed release, so if you're looking for prop it isn't getting tapped until 9pm. No idea on the bottle sales, as I've never been there for that portion. And if past years are any indication, it will be crowded. Between the BCBS and BBB and other beers, it looks to be a good, boozy night at Brixies.
