I think my BCBSC is infected, it tastes like coffee....

I agree with the above sentiments. Way too many people also think that a "fruity" coffee note means infection. I don't doubt there can be some bad bottles, due to contamination or something. But way too many people cry infection these days when it doesn't taste the way they intended it to.

This is where my lack of appreciation for coffee stouts comes in handy.

Flecha Roja, which was used the year before (2016) is a fruity coffee bean. That could be contributing to the confusion.

I swear we went through this last year with a fruity coffee cultivar and BCBS....

Also looks like some good bottle options for on-site too, basis the post afterward. VR (probably already all gone, one would think), Regal, Reserve, Northwoods, Coffee17, vintage BW (14?), vintage coffee (14?), and vintage reg.

Don't they normally have huge up-charges on the bottles?

VR was...$125 or something someone posted I think before? The last time they had VR awhile back I mean. I think that was before the new taproom opened and this was at the other location? Maybe I'm crazy.

It used to be higher (when you could take it to go). Currently $100 for VR. Same for King Henry, but they say they actually don’t have it today.

So, this is only tangentially related to your post.

Do beers age in kegs the same way they do in bottles? I would have to imagine a keg gets less oxygenated than a bottle, but still some seems in? Am I crazy?

What i was actually wondering is whether all these vintage beers that have showed up over all the various years after initial release are actually old stock bottles, or whether they have just "bottled more" from old kegs at various points in time. (So, obviously my thinking is that a "freshly bottled" VR would be "fresher" than a 2014 original.)

Clear as mud and twice as thick?

These are original bottles. They have pallets of vintage BCS stocked away. No one is bottling more

I saw that a couple hours ago. I was a bit shocked they let it sit for a whopping 5 seconds before pressing it. I know it is just a PR video, but still.

Maybe if I am going to open up a 17 BCBS and play with a French press I should do 1/4 with Vanilla beans, 1/4 with moon pie, and 1/4 with Toasted Coconuts & Vanilla beans, and 1/4 straight.

I scoffed at the BCBS Coffee infection thread, but after watching this video and seeing a brewer drink directly from the french press I have to wonder if perhaps these people aren't as sharp as we need them to be....

The convenience store at the corner of Belmont and Sheridan is unloading a bottle of Reserve, deeply discounted for $79.99. Also the liquor store under the Southport brown line has a close out on Bourbon County as follows:
16/17 mix BCBS pick two for $34.99
17 BCBW pick two for $37.99
    Northwoods $69.99
    Reserve $99.99

Now don’t all rush over there at once!

There is a time and place for shenanigans, and this video experiment definitely is one of them.
